Meet Jane and Erik!

Meet Jane Erik! One of our favorite PetziFamily members. Erik and Jane hail from Minnesota. They are kind and friendly people who just love animals … of all kinds! So when they were invited to celebrate the marriage of a young couple at a CAT THEMED WEDDING they had to say yes!

You’ve seen some of the pictures on our PetziSocial site and now Jane and Erik tell all!

The Theodore Wirth Park is the largest park in Minnesota. The park includes two golf courses (an 18-hole course and a 9-hole, par 3 course), Wirth Lake, and Birch Pond, among other amenities. The Swiss florist and landscaper, Wirth, came to the country in 1888 and is known for creating the amazing park system that fills MN with natural beauty and keeps its residents loving the outdoors, even when it’s freezing out!

Wirth Chalet, with it’s rustic charm and beautiful fireplace room, is where the wedding took place. Tables topped with cat topiaries were the sites to see as well as the three-tiered wedding cake, complete with kitty bride and groom.

Jane and Erik both agreed the wedding and cat theme were done with taste and elegance. The bride and mother-of-the-bride, being big animal fans, made this the perfect way to celebrate this marriage. The bride and her new husband came out to the popping summer beauty of MN for their wedding from their home in New Orleans. There they have become very active over the years after Hurricane Katrina, helping with social services and doing what they can to make the community bounce back after what they endured. The mother-of-the-bride, who used to work with Jane at the MN newspaper, The StarTribune, is an animal advocate herself. She has many pet cats and even bought a second home just for her chickens so she wouldn’t bother her naighbors. She takes good care of both homes full of pets. When the chickens can no longer lay eggs she keeps taking care of the old broads, never to be eaten. They are buried just as you would with any beloved pet.

Jane and Erik weren’t sure what to expect at the wedding. Were they supposed to bring their own cats along? Turns out it was a splendid time. They enjoyed the decor, the stories about the bride and her kitty antics, and the celebration of the new couple. They brought their gift wrapped in some appropriate cat wrapping paper only to find out that the only other person who brought a wrapped gift used the same paper! What did Jane and Erik gift the newlyweds you might wonder? None other than a Petzi Treat Cam! They wait with anticipation for the new couple to come online for the first time as well as the mother-of-the-bride. Erik exclaimed, “We might have our first chickens on PetziSocial soon!”

Jane and Erik are true “PetziPeople”. They love being social and sharing their pets with you all and really enjoy meeting everyone’s cutest family members! They cherish their online friendships with other PetziFamily members Rik&Lola and Fox Mt. Jane and Erik are momma and pappa to Ole, Polly, Bobby and Louis. Look out for them all on PetziSocial!
