Are you going on vacation this summer and bringing your pet? If you are, make sure to bring your Petzi Treat Cam with you! Bringing your fur-baby on vacation with you can be so much fun, however sometime you can’t take them everywhere. If this is the case, make sure to bring your Petzi Treat Cam with you so you can check in on them while they are in the hotel.
There are just a few things you need to know before you head off to vacation. Many hotels have security and other restrictions on their WiFi networks that may prevent you from connecting your Petzi Treat Cam. To ensure that you can check in on Fluffy, here is a check list of what you’ll need to do to make sure everything is smooth sailing.
Option 1 *Petzi Recommended
The first and safest option is to bring your own WiFi Network! You can buy or rent a portable WiFi hotspot that uses a mobile network provider. You can also buy or borrow a portable WiFi router that can plug into your hotel room’s ethernet port ( most travel routers come with instructions on how to use it in a hotel so it should be pretty easy to set it up). If you choose option one, make sure to connect and test your Petzi before you leave.
The second option is to use the hotels WiFi, however if you choose this option, you’ll need to do some homework. First, ask the hotel if this is possible. You will likely need to talk with the hotel’s network support line. Ask them if they allow devices like ours. If they don’t recognize Petzi, ask them if they can add a Google Chromecast as they connect in a similar manner. If they don’t allow it, you have no choice but to bring your own WiFi. If they do allow this, they will likely need to know your Petzi’s MAC Address. Get this before you travel by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
