Whether you like to take your pup out in the beginning of the day, or at night, make sure the temperature outside is cool. Waiting till it cools down will not only feel good for your dog, but it will also allow for the asphalt to cool down that way their paws don’t burn.
2. Kiddie Pool for Your Pup
Grab a kiddie pool from your local store, and fill it with water. This is a perfect alternative to your dog swimming in the pool. Just fill the pool with water till their paws are completely underneath water. My dog Mila usually just sits in the pool, but it cools her down right away.
Last, but definitely not least, is to make sure your pet stays hydrated! Make sure they are drinking lots and lots of water. Tip: If you are an obsessive owner like me, try putting some ice cubes in their water. It makes for a refreshing drink.
